Raising the Bar: We have conditioned our-self to lower our standards to meet those of our peer group so that we aren’t sitting in a position of constant judgment. We also tend to minimize our successes so we don’t hurt the feelings of those around us. However, by raising your standards you can encourage / challenge those around you to raise their own — in addition, you’ll attract people with an even higher level of standards to challenge you to continue to raise your own.
